Is EPS polystyrene foam recyclable?

Yes, EPS (expanded polystyrene), also known as Styrofoam, can be recycled.

EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) polystyrene foam is the most widely industrialized large-scale use of cushioning packaging materials, the use of steam in the pre-fabricated mold cavity, heated expandable polystyrene beads, foaming and then take the mold molded cushioning packaging.

Significant Advantages of EPS Features.

The manufacturing process is already highly mature industrialization, standardization, automation, very little manual labor.
Stable and excellent cushioning performance, low cost.
Excellent thermal insulation effect, in the cold chain transportation packaging is also widely used.
Light density, low density, light weight closed cell structure, so that the material has a very good waterproof and buoyancy, also widely used in water projects in product design

Recycling Steps.

EPS foam blocks are shredded and compressed into blocks, and then gathered to the reuse processing plant.
Pelletizing plant will break the EPS foam blocks again, and then into the plastic extruder melting and extruding PS recycled particles pelletizing.
The recycled PS particles are then used to produce picture frames, drying racks and storage boxes.
